Ricardo Salles, minister of the environment of the Brazilian government, in a meeting of April 22, released by the STF, declared that they should take advantage of the covid-19 pandemic to “pass the cattle”.

He was referring to the deviation the press's attention regarding the regulations of the portfolio, which he disastrously commands, regarding the Amazon.

Ricardo Salles is the Environment Minister of the fascist government of militiaman Jair Bolsonaro.

Since the fascist's inauguration in January 2019, the number of invasions of demarcated indigenous territories and under the protection of FUNAI has increased uncontrollably and the huge fires have made headlines in Brazil and in the international press. Since then, the situation has only worsened.

Data the National Institute for Space Research (Inpe) in 2019 point to a sharp increase in deforestation in the Amazon region. The fires were 2,248, the 1st to the 30th of June 2020. In 2019, there were 1,880. Outbreaks are recorded by satellites.

There is also the record of an anticipation of the number of fires that used to occur after the month of July. June had the worst index recorded since 2007.

The increase in fires, considered a record, was already being alerted by NGOs and experts and corresponds to the accelerated deforestation in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

That is; Ricardo Salles' recommendation regarding the Amazon is being strictly followed. In a fuse…

In an obvious orchestrated farce, this government takes advantage of the chaos scenario, which it itself promoted, to accentuate a state of military occupation of the territory of the Amazon. The implementation of the Amazon Law and Order Guarantee (GLO) decree was initiated by Planalto itself and it is very important to say that, in a single month, you will spend budget corresponding to IBAMA's annual environmental inspection budget!

That is; if IBAMA had a budget of that figure since forever, criminal fires would never occur, let alone the farce of the need to put the military, the Federal Police, ABIN and the National Force in this territory!

The fires were promoted by associations of ruralists who saw Bolsonaro's possession as an opportune moment for all his criminal actions. And now, with the excuse of fighting these crimes, the plateau issues the Law and Order Guarantee Decree in the Amazon, which using the excuse to fight deforestation and fires, is settling there to repress social movements, the homeless land and proceed with indigenous extermination. They want to implode the work developed by the Chico Mendes Institute in that region, which besides promoting and executing research programs, also promotes the protection and conservation of biodiversity throughout the national territory.

The Federal Justice of Amazonas charged Ibama, the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity (ICMBio) and Funai to provide answers about the record increase in deforestation in the Amazon region this year, since they know very well who is promoting them ...

The Amazon has a stock of minerals necessary for technological development. And twenty percent more of the world's freshwater spring! It is imperialism that finances its occupation now maintaining a military enclave directly controlled the GLO Amazonia to defend the interests of landowners and land grabbers. This is very transparent for anyone who looks at the facts and their chronology.
